Jenith M. "Buster" Shults

1932 - 2006

Havana, IL - Jenith M. "Buster" Shults, 74, of Havana, IL formerly of Kilbourne, IL passed away at 9:30 pm Tues. Dec. 12, 2006 at his residence. He was born May 23, 1932 in Mason County the son of Robert Clark and Martha Marie Hart Shults. He married Rose E. Witherell Feb. 21, 1959 in Bath, IL and she survives.

Mr. Shults was a member of the Kilbourne Baptist Church where he served on the board. He also was a former mayor and trustee of Kilbourne and was a past member of the Kilbourne Fire Department. He worked as a forklift operator for Kilbourne Hardwood Lumber Co.

He is survived by one daughter, Christine (Koert) Rennecker of Kilbourne; two sons, Rodney (Brenda) Shults of Mason City, IL and Jeffrey (Julie) Shults of Canton, IL; five grandchildren, Brooke, Chase, Krista, Jared and Erika. Also surviving are four sisters, Mary Ellen Smith and Lavina Kruse of Havana, Edith (Kenny) Lynn of Springfield, IL and Patsy Williams of Ada, OK and one brother Mackrow Shults of Lincoln, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Sat. Dec. 16, 2006 at the Kilbourne Baptist Church conduced by Revs. Ken Wagstaff and Andrew Mogerman. Burial will be in the Kilbourne Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 pm Friday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kilbourne Baptist Church or Spoon River Hospice.
