Jere A. "Hump" Humphress

(1954 - 2011)

Jere A. “Hump” Humphress, 56, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 5:45 pm at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on May 7, 1954 in Springfield to John and Jewel Willis Humphress.

He is survived by his son, Jere A. Humphress, Jr.; daughter, Kristy M. Humphress; brother, John (Carla) Humphress; two sisters, Kathy (John) Williamson and Carrie Peter; grandson, Leon Brown III; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Tony Humphress, preceded him in death.

Mr. Humphress worked as a supervisor at Solomon Colors in Springfield. He was a member of Bro Riders Motorcycle Club. He loved riding motorcycles and working on cars.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Richland Cemetery in Pleasant Plains. Rev. Duane Turley will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg.
