James Alfred Watson

1932 - 2009

James Alfred Watson, 77, of Havana, passed away at ManorCare in Canton at 9:50 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010. He was born November 8, 1932 in Havana to Alfred and Margie (Lynch) Watson. He married Anna Stockham on October 20, 1956 in Havana.

Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Anna of Havana, three daughters, Terry Ann (Jeff) Pederson of North Carolina, Jamie Lynn (Jim) Birdsell of Chandlerville, Crystal Irene (Raymond) Porter, of Ipava, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Donald Watson of Astoria, Kenny Watson and John Watson of Havana, three sisters, Doris Rowe of Astoria, Evelyn Moore and Karen Boehl, both of Havana. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Watson was a member of the Havana Central Christian Church, VFW Post #6408 and Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local Union No. 6 of Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and burial of cremains will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
