John Patrick "Pat" Coughlin

1934 - 2011

John Patrick “Pat” Coughlin, 77, passed away at home in Chandlerville on Friday, November 18, 2011. He was born May 10, 1934 in Springfield son of Jeremiah “Jerry” Coughlin and Anna (Kennedy) Coughlin. He married Nina Carolyn Stone June 16, 1973.

He was raised in Springfield, IL attended Lanphier High School and proudly served in the U.S.M.C. during the Korean Conflict.  After serving his country, he worked as an x-ray technician for the State of IL. He later became a state licensed tree expert and founded Coughlin Tree Service. He also worked as an explosives contractor. He was a proud father and grandfather, an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert and Jeremiah “Jerry” Coughlin. He is survived by his son, John Patrick Coughlin of Springfield, brother Thomas J Coughlin of Aurora, IL and grandchildren Rebecca “Becca” Erin Coughlin and Jack Patrick Coughlin. Pat will be greatly missed by his son John.

Pursuant to his wishes, cremation was accorded by Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Dec 3, 2011 at 2:00pm at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in lieu of flowers at the funeral home, 255 Main St, Chandlerville.
