John Ernest Saal

1934 - 2010

John Ernest Saal, 76, of Topeka, passed away at his home at 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. He was born July 23, 1934 in Topeka, IL to Ernest and Mabel (Ringwald) Saal. He married Evelyn Traub on July 19, 1996.

Mr. Saal is survived by his wife Evelyn of Topeka, one son, Steve (Peg) Saal of Omaha, NE, and twenty grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Saal.

Mr. Saal attended services at the Havana 1^st United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army in Korea from 1958-59. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. as a lineman for over 25 years, retiring in 1992.

A memorial service will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Sidney Davis will officiate.
