John A. Schaad 1924 - 2009
Havana, IL - John A. Schaad, 85, of Havana passed away at 6:30
pm Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at the Mason District Hospital in Havana. He was born
January 19, 1924 in Lynchburg Twp., Mason County to Andrew and Myrtis Revis
Schaad. He married Helen E. Howell Sarff June 14,
1969 and she passed away Nov. 20, 2005. Mr. Schaad was a member of the First United Methodist Church
in Havana, the Mason County Farm Bureau and Chandlerville Lodge #724 AF &AM. He is survived by two step sons: Alan (Donna) Sarff and Daryl
(Roberta) Sarff both of Havana; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and
three great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, David Schaad of
Springfield, Il and one sister, Mary Sutter also of Springfield, IL.
Services will be held at 10:00 Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at the Hurley Funeral Home
in Havana conducted by Revs. Sidney Davis and Michael Hopps. Burial will follow
in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until
7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the
Mason District Hospital in Havana or the Riverview Estates in Havana. Online
