John D. Stigall

1942 - 2011

John D. Stigall, 68, of Havana, passed away at 12:22 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born September 22, 1942 in Ashland, IL to Howard E. and Elizabeth Carmeleta (Bradshaw) Stigall. He married Elva Atwater on November 28, 1964.

Mr. Stigall is survived by his mother, Carmeleta Foster of Macomb, wife, Elva Stigall of Havana, two sons, Stacey and Spencer (Renee) Stigall of Havana, one daughter, Sheri Stigall of Pekin, four grandchildren, Johnathon, Morgan, Kelsie and Maddie Stigall, all of Havana, two sisters, Sally Arnoldi of South Roxana, Dorothy Zacharias of Sessor and one brother, Howard “Butch” (Edna) Stigall of Macomb. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Stigall was a retired truck driver, having driven for over 25 years for Heartland Express and later for Kreiling Trucking.

Funeral services will be held at the Havana Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Bill Boyce will officiate.
