John Wendorff 1932 - 2008
John Wendorff, 76, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 10:15 pm, at his residence. He was born on January 15, 1932 in Hannibal, MO to Eugene and Helen Kendrick Wendorff. He married Donna Korsmeyer on January 12, 1958. He is survived by his wife Donna of Springfield; and two sons, Jeffrey Wendorff of Tampa, and Kris (Jackie) Wendorff of Springfield. Mr. Wendorff worked for the State of Illinois for 20 years retiring as Deputy Director of the Illinois Department of Revenue. He then was chosen for the Treasury Department Senior Executive program and served as a director for the IRS. He had graduated from Illinois College in Jacksonville with a Bachelors Degree. He was a member of the Shambolee Golf Club and American Legion of Petersburg. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Duwayne Reichart and Rev. Dan Roseberry will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg at a later date.
