Jose A. Ralat-Marquez

1954 - 2010

Jose A. Ralat-Marquez, 56, of Havana, passed away at his home at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2010. He was born February 3, 1954 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to Reinaldo and Ana Luisa (Marquez) Ralat-Reyes. He married Kimberly Hamilton on July 21, 1973 in Boxelder, SD.

Jose is survived by his wife, Kimberly, of Havana, father, Reinaldo and step-mother, Felipa of Puerto Rico, two sons, Jose (Wendy) Ralat of Astoria, Jesse (Legna) Ralat of Springfield, IL five grandchildren, Alexsenia, Tehyauna, Miguel, Raevyn, Ryleign and one step-grandson, Zach Huggins. Also surviving are two brothers, Reinaldo Ralat of Bayamon, PR and Felipe Ralat of Orlando, FL. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother.

Jose was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Havana. He served in the US Air Force from 1971 until 1975, ending his career as a Sergeant. He worked for Dynegy in Havana for the past 30 years. He loved his motorcycles, fishing on the Illinois River, computers, family and especially his grandchildren.

A celebration of Jose’s life will be held, by having a potluck, at VFW Post #6408 in Havana on May 15, 2010 starting at 3:00 p.m. Bring a covered dish and join Jose’s family and friends in remembering the good times we have shared. Leave your tears of sorrow at the door and bring your tears of joy in.
