Sandra Kae Hunt

1941 - 2011

Sandra Kae Hunt, 70, of Chandlerville, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield at 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011. She was born October 29, 1941 in Chandlerville to George and Marguerite (Hohimer) Hampton. She married Darrel Hunt on November 30, 1960 at the Chandlerville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband, Darrel of Chandlerville, son, Stacy (Charito) Hunt of Tucson, AZ, daughter, Jodi (Dean) Morgan of Petersburg, four grandchildren, Luke and Nic Morgan and Dakota and Dillon Hunt. Also surviving are three sisters, Donna Whitehouse of Bloomington, IL, Ruth Sanders of Adkins, Tx and Wadine Mibb of Chandlerville as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Hunt had been a very active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Chandlerville since 1974. She taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She retired from the Illinois Department of Public Health after 25 years. She was a graduate of Chandlerville High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Sangamon State University in Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Visiation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Rev. George Garnot will officiate.
