Havana, IL - Katherine E. Conner, 90, of Shalimar, FL formerly of Havana, IL passed away Oct. 26, 2006. She was born March 15, 1916 in Tallula, IL the daughter of Milton and Katherine E. Allen. She married Lewis R. Conner in 1935 in Peoria, IL and he preceded her in death. At the age of two her mother passed away and she was raised by her grandmother, Rumford. She graduated salutatorian of Tallula High School. She and her husband settled in Havana and had various careers. They owned the local Dairy Queen and a laundromat until they retired.

Mrs. Conner is survived by two sons, Bruce W. (Chizuko) Conner of Falls Church, VA, and William L. Conner of Shalimar, FL; two grandchildren, Michele (Rusty) Snelson of Arlington, TX and David W. (Laura) Conner of Cumming, GA; and five great grandchildren, Amanda and Allison Snelson and Molly, Emily, and Christian Conner. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and one brother.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Havana conducted by Rev. Robert Smith. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of services on Monday at her church. Burial will be in the Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Pleasant Plains, IL.
