1918 - 2011

Kathleen L. Williams, 92, of Havana, passed away at Havana Health Care at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011. She was born December 4, 1918 at Camp Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina to Dr. A.E. and Charlotte “Dot” (Walton) List. She married Guy Rhodes Williams on August 30, 1940 in Havana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Guy R. Williams, brother, James W. List and one infant grandson, Guy R. Williams II.

She leaves behing one son, Guy Richard “Dick” Williams of East Peoria, IL, five grandchildren, Hilary S. Williams of Havana, Guy R. “G.R.” Williams of Las Vegas, NV, Amanda L. (Eric) Lowery of Havana, Madeline M. Williams of East Peoria and Joshua W. Williams of Peoria. She also has two great grandchildren, Jorien Williams of Havana and Ashlyn Whittington of Havana.

She attended Havana schools and graduated in 1938. She attended the University of Arizona and graduated from the University of Illinois. She later received a Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling from Illinois State University. She served the Havana Library Board, was a charter member of Chapter “Y” PEO Sisterhood, was former chairman of the Mason County Cancer Drive and a member of the Easton Women’s Club. She loved her dogs and cats, reading and was a proud lifelong Democrat.

Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Fr. Phillip Boeve and Fr. James Fedosuk will officiate.
