Kathryn Ruth Gerdes

Kathryn Ruth M. Gerdes, 84, a lifelong resident Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11:42 pm at Sunny Acres Home. She was born on April 18, 1926 in Petersburg to Julius H. and Miriam T. Lowande Mallergren. She married C. Stanley Gerdes on May 5, 1951. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2008.

She is survived by a sister, Jo Anne (Ross) Sanders of Lombard, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Stanley and sister, Helen L. Bourque, preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dan Roseberry will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg.
