Keith W. Beaty

1917 - 2006

Havana, IL - Keith W. Beaty, 89, of 713 N. Pearl St., Havana, died at 12:26 pm Sun. Aug. 20, 2006 at the Mason District Hospital in Havana. He was born July 18, 1917 near Enion, IL in Fulton County, the son of Melvin and Mary Farris Beaty. He married Adelaide J. "Peaches" Beaty Dec. 25, 1943 in Independence, Kansas. She died May 20, 2006.

Mr. Beaty was a farmer, a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havana, Havana Post #138 American Legion, Mason and Fulton County Farm Bureaus, the Fuddy Duddys, and formerly president of the South Fulton School District and formerly a drainage director for Lacey Drainage. He was a veteran serving in the US Army Air Corps as an MP.

He is survived by two sons, Michael (Kathie) Beaty of Groveland, IL and Patrick (Jane) Beaty of Canton; three grandchildren, Andrea, Christopher and Aaron and two great grandchildren, Anika and Claire. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert and one sister, Lucille.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am Thurs. Aug. 24, 2006 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havana by Fr. Eugene Engelbrecht. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wed. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Rosary at 5:30 pm. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mason District Hospital in Havana, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or the American Legion. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
