Kenneth E. Dicken

1933 - 2006

Kenneth E. Dicken, 72, of Tallula, died at 1:25 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in Springfield at St. John’s North. He was born on December 29, 1933 in Springfield, IL to John And Nancy (DeGroot) Dicken. He married Joann Bryant on August 12, 1961 in Tallula. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sherri (Larry) Jefferson of Tallula, and Sheila (Greg) Baum of Petersburg ; one granddaughter, Laikyn Baum of Petersburg; one aunt; two nieces; and several cousins. His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Dicken was a member of the Tallula Christian Church, Lodge #700 of Pleasant Plains, and ANSAR Shriner Retirees Club. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local # 51. He had retired from his post at the Illinois Department of Revenue as supervisor of security guards.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Tallula Christian Church. Rev. Wayne Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, July 28, 2006 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospice, Tallula Christian Church, or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
