Larry G. Martin

1930 - 2010

Larry G. Martin, 79, of Havana, passed away at Mason District Hospital in Havana at 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010. He was born November 2, 1930 in Havana to Carl and Beatrice (Lyons) Martin. He married Irene Holtman on September 9, 1950 in Havana. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2006.

Mr. Martin is survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Charles) Barnum of Havana, Nancy (Brian) Barstead of Rochester, IL, Susan (Rod) Jump of Havana, one son, John (Valerie) Martin of Havana, and three grandchildren, Melissa Martin, Alex Barstead and Brock Jump. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Robert.

Mr. Martin was a member of the Havana 1^st United Methodist Church where he was also a member of the Men’s Club, Havana Jaycees and Havana Rotary Club. Larry and his wife owned Larry Martin Insurance Agency in Havana for many years until their retirement. He also spent many years in connection with the Mason County Democrat as a mentor for his nephew.

A memorial service will be held at the Havana 1^st United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the services. Rev. Sidney Davis will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
