Laura Louise DeLong 1913 - 2007
Laura Louise DeLong, 94, of Petersburg, died on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 4:00 am at Menard Convalescent Center in Petersburg. She was born on March 11, 1913 in Chandlerville to Louis and Elizabeth Market Hinrichs. She married Elwin E. DeLong. He preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, Paul E. (Myra) DeLong of Dubuque, IA; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister Doris Jurgens of Virginia, IL. Her husband, two sisters, and three brothers preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Petersburg United Methodist Church, where she had been served as treasurer for the church. She had also been a member of the United Methodist Women, and American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Petersburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Robert Shook will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Memorial contributions may be made to the Petersburg United Methodist Church. Online memorials may be made at www.hurleyfh.com
