Laverna Irene Lane 1936 - 2006
Bath, IL - Verna Irene Lane, 70, of Bath, IL
passed away at 4:31 am Thurs., Dec. 7, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital in
Springfield, IL. She was born Oct. 5, 1936 in Virginia, IL the daughter of
Frank and Florence Segelhorst Sherren. She married Paul W. Lane Nov. 19,
1954 in Virginia and he died June 15, 1988.
Mrs. Lane was a member of the Bath United Methodist Church and had worked at Atwood Vacuum Company in Havana, Mobile Chemical Co., in Jacksonville, the DuRite Laundry in Havana, Corda’s Café in Havana and last worked as a CNA at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia, IL. She is survived by one daughter, Paula (Robert) Mattheessen of Pekin, IL; one son, Larry (Lu) Lane of Virginia, IL; one step-dau, Bonnie Lane; three grandchildren; ten step grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Rose (Walter) Yancy of Philadelphia, IL and one brother, Jesse Lee (Phyllis) Sherren of Concord, IL. She was preceded in death by two daughters and two step sons. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sat. Dec. 9, 2006 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com. |
