Leroy "Sonny" Deckard

Leroy “Sonny” Deckard, 81, of Greenview, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:55 a.m. at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. He was born on November 3, 1929 in Greenview to Thomas and Emma Schurman Deckard.

Mr. Deckard is survived by a sister, Doris Hudspeth; niece Denise (Donald) Damm; nephews, David Hudspeth and Dennis (Judy) Hudspeth; and three great nephews, Craig and Joshua Beiermann, and Dustin Hudspeth.

His brother, Jimmy Lee Deckard, preceded him in death.

He had worked as a car detailer for Hinrichs Chevrolet. He was a member of Greenview United Church and Greenview AMVETS Post 179.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview. Pastor Julie Wells Blythe will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Sweetwater.
