Virginia, IL - Lloyd G. Steigleder, 91 of Virginia, IL formerly of Bath, IL passed away at 9:15 am Sat. Dec. 19, 2009 at the Jacksonville Convalescent Center in Jacksonville, IL. He was born Dec. 30, 1917 in Bath, the son of George and Nettie Bishop Allen Steigleder. He married Darlene M. Lane Nov. 21, 1951 in Havana and she preceded him in death Dec. 11, 1999.

Mr. Steigleder was a veteran of the US Army during WWII where he served in the Army Air Corps. He worked as a machinist at Caterpillar, Inc. for many years and also owned and operated his own TV sales and service repair company. He was a graduate of Bath-Lynchburg High School.

He is survived by one daughter, Melba Turner of Virginia, IL and one son, Jeff Lloyd Steigleder of Birmingham, AL. Five grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, along with his wife and parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville. .Burial will be in the Bath Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jacksonville Convalescent Center Activity Fund.
