Havana, IL - Lorene Anna Meta
Fanter, 95, of
Havana passed away at 12:50 pm Sat. Dec. 30, 2006 at
the Mason District Hospital in
Havana. She was born March 19, 1911 in Forest City
Twp., Mason County the daughter of John and Wilhelmina
"Minnie" Wiemer Kastendick. She married Karl F. Fanter June
24, 1933 at Bath, IL and he preceded her in death April 17,
1963.Mrs. Fanter was a member of St. John’s Lutheran
Church near Bath, IL; St. John’s Ladies Aid; she worked as a
cook at the Mason District Hospital in
Havana and the IGA Grocery Store; she loved cooking,
quilting, embroidering and crosswords.
She is survived by one daughter, Carlene (Milford)
Siltman of
Havana, one son, Kenneth (Janis) Fanter of Kilbourne;
five grandchildren, Kent (Kelly) Siltman, Darren Siltman,
Cory (Jennifer) Fanter, Kerry Bailey, and Jeremy Fanter.
Four great grandchildren, one brother, Harold Kastendick of
Havana, and two sisters, Dorothy Rayburn of East
Peoria and Edna Herrmann of Chandlerville also survive.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Wed. Jan. 3, 2007 at
St. John’s Lutheran Church near Bath, conducted by Pastor
Brian Lesemann. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery
at
Havana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00
pm Tues. at the Hurley Funeral Home in
Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to her
church or the Mason District Hospital Foundation. Online
