Lorraine L. Dorethy

1921 - 2006

Lorraine Louise Dorethy, 84, of Mason City died at the Mason City Area Nursing Home on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 5:50 p.m. She was born on October 27, 1921 to Fred and Dora (Neis) Wilhelm in Menard County, IL. She married Harold Willard Dorethy in Easton, IL on February 17, 1945. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2001.

Mrs. Dorethy is survived by one son: Paul (Diane) Dorethy of Mason City, and one daughter: Linda (Tom) Engelman of Raymond, IL; three granddaughters: Taylor and Stephanie Dorethy of Mason City and Lacey Engelman of Raymond, IL; two step granddaughters Jennifer (Corey) Johnson of Litchfield, IL and Julie Engelman of Chicago; and one great-granddaughter, Blair Johnson of Litchfield, IL. Also surviving are one sister, Shirley (Dave) Burch of Divernon, IL and two brothers, Harold and Edgar Wilhelm, both of Greenview, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Mrs. Dorethy was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City. She was a Graduate of Greenview High School.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City with visitation one hour prior to the services. Rev. John Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Mason City Cemetery following the services.
