Donna "Lou" Coleman

1930 - 2011

Donna “Lou” Coleman, 81, of Havana, passed away at her home at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011. She was born March 27, 1930 in Leroy, IL to Madeline and Lloyd Thompson. She married Jack Coleman on June 26, 1968. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2002.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by one daughter, Michelle Eaton of Houston, TX, stepson, Michael (Kitty) Coleman of Havana, stepdaughters, Peg (Kurt) Gronan of Lake Bluff, IL and Juli (Rodney) Lay of Jacksonville, FL, five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and two daughters, Angie O’Bryant and Denise Eaton.

Mrs. Coleman was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Havana, where she had served on the Church Board. She had worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services for many years. At Mason District Hospital in Havana, she served on the Board of Directors for many years and also volunteered as a Pink Lady. She had been in PEO for over 50 years as well as the Havana Rotary Club where she was a Paul Harris Fellow.

Funeral services will be held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Havana at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Fr. James Fedosuk will officiate.
