Louise Ortgessen

(1902 - 2005)

Louise Ortgessen, 102, of Petersburg died April 16, 2005. She was born September 13, 1902 in Petersburg to Herman and ANna Bonties Aachte. She married John Ortgessen inn Petersburg on June 30, 1930. He died in 1976.

She worked for the Red Cross durig WWII and then later worked at her father and brother's grocery ( Aachts Grocery in Peterburg) as a clerk. She was a member of the St. Paul's Church of Christ, Menard Co. Historical Society, and the Petersburg Women's Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister.

A daughter Greta Eastman of Henry, IL, two grandchildren, 3 great grand children, and 1 great great grandchild survive.

Services will be on April 18, 2005 at 11am at the St. Paul's Untied Church of Christ. Visitation will be an hour before the service. 

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Untied Church of Christ.
