Lucille Reed 1910 - 2008
Chandlerville, IL - Lucille Reed, 97, of Chandlerville, IL
passed away at 2:10 pm Wed., Feb. 6, 2008 at the Walker Nursing Home in
Virginia, IL. She was born Dec. 20, 1910 in the home she still lived in to Ralph
and Hilma Turner Cook. She married Jewel Reed Sept. 11, 1930 in Virginia, IL and
he passed away Dec. 27, 1981. Mrs. Reed is survived by two daughters; Mary Louise (John)
Goetz and Patricia (Earl) Williams and one son, James (Dorothy) Reed all of
Chandlerville. Nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twenty-one great
grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and sixteen great great
grandchildren also survive. One sister, Annabelle Cloninger of Chandlerville
survives and she was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Cook. She was a member of the Chandlerville Christian Church and
attended Chandlerville High School. She was a homemaker all of her life. She
loved her horses and dogs and her acres of beautiful flowers and garden in the
summer. Her neighbors were her most valued friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Sat., Feb. 9, 2008 at the Lintner-Hurley
Funeral Home in Chandlerville conducted by Rev. James Waterman. Friends may call
from 11:00 am until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial
will be in the Pontiac Cemetery near Chandlerville. Memorial contributions may
be made to the Walker Nursing Home. Online condolences my be sent to the family
