Lyman P. Lyons 1912 - 2007 Lyman P. Lyons, 95, of Petersburg, died on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 2:20 pm at St. Johns Hospice in Springfield. He was born on January 11, 1912 in Mason County, to John and Minnie Shaneberg Lyons. He married Josephine Garner in Springfield on June 8, 1957. He is survived by his wife Josephine, one son Eldon Lyons of Springfield; two daughters, Jo Ann (Steve) Brady of Petersburg, and Jodi (Bill) Bates of Springfield; three step sons; two step daughters; and many grand children, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jane Lyons; three brothers; and one sister. Mr. Lyons had been a farmer for many years. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 11:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Pastor Robert Shook will be officiating. Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Menard County Rescue Squad or the Petersburg Fire Department. |
