Margaret E. Friend

1916 - 2010

Margaret E. Friend, 93, of Havana, formerly of Kilbourne, passed away at Riverview Estates in Havana at 7:55 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. She was born June 5, 1916 in Havana, to Carl and Ella (Larson) Barrett. She married Clifford W. Friend on March 6, 1937 in Kilbourne. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1994.

Mrs. Friend is survived by four daughters, Ruth (Pete) Shoemaker of Kilbourne, Nina (Donnie) Bryant of Havana, Mary Muller of El Paso, TX, Connie (Jim) Chew of Florence, MT and one son, Don (Joy) Friend of Bath. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Wayne, sister, Jean Sielschott and brothers, Jack and Fred Barrett.

Mrs. Friend was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, for many years.

Funeral services will be held at her church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2010 with visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Don Neisler and Stephen Muller will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
