Margaret Ann Johnson 1931 - 2009
Margaret Ann Johnson, 79, of Chandlerville, passed away at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville at 5:55 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010. She was born January 11, 1931 in Jacksonville to Gaston William and Maude Frances (Coonrod) Foote. She married Howard Marion Johnson on February 14, 1960 at the Grace Methodist Church in Jacksonville. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of Chandlerville, one daughter, Janna Marion (Matthew) Zachary of Petersburg, two nieces, whom she raised, Jessie (Edean) Leinberger of Chandlerville and Bertha (Edward) Davies of Creve Coeur, IL as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters, Martha Vorhes of Urbana, IL and Dorothy Floreth of Jacksonville and one brother Wayne Foote of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Alicia Ann Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, Chandlerville American Legion Auxillary and Chandlerville Women’s Club. She had worked at Myer’s Bros., Ford Garage, H&M Dairy Dip and Howard’s Grocery and Hardware. Funeral services will be held at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Rev. Judy Vidakovich will officiate. The Chandlerville American Legion Auxillary will also take part in the services. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview United Methodist Church, Fairview Cemetery Fund, of American Legion Auxillary.
