Marisue Wilson

1934-2012

Havana, IL – Marisue Wilson, 77, of Havana went to be with her Lord at 6:13 pm Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born January 20, 1934 the daughter of Ralph and Marietta (Hackman) Bruning. She was the cherished wife and best friend of Wesley L. Wilson whom she married April 15, 1956 in Havana. He preceded her in death March 5, 2004.

Mrs. Wilson was an elementary teacher in the Havana School System for over 35 years where she taught Kindergarten through 3^rd grade, 2nd grade being her favorite. Many lives were touched and teeth were pulled by Mrs. Wilson during her many years of service as an elementary teacher. She was a graduate of Havana High School and Western Illinois University where she received both her BA in Education and Master's Degrees and was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honorary Society. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Havana, Chapter “Y” PEO, Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, and Mason County Retired Teachers. Marisue enjoyed teaching, traveling, The Cardinals, and basketball, but most importantly being with her family. She was adored by her four grandsons and was there #1 cheerleader as she attended their sporting events.

Marisue is the loving, kind, generous, and selfless mother of Cheryl (Mike) Plunkett of Springfield, IL and Cindy (Mark) Caggiano of Mason City. Four grandsons, Colin and Jacob Caggiano and Daniel and David Plunkett also survive in addition to one sister, Mardelle (Dale) Osing of Havana. In addition to her family, Marisue truly treasured the friendships of the school girls.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Havana conducted by Pastors Sidney Davis and Robert Smith. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.
