Marjorie M. Stadsholt
1922 - 2010
Marjorie M. Stadsholt, 88 of Mason City , died at 2:55pm surrounded by her
family at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield . She was born on July 26,
1922, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Laumeier) Rabbe in rural San Jose.
She married William E. Stadsholt on October 15, 1938.
Survivors are her husband William; two sons: Billy Lee (companion, Becky Coyle)
Stadsholt of Mason City, Robert (Donna) Stadsholt of Normal; one sister: Irma
Morris of Mason City ; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter in law, one grandson and two brothers.
Mrs. Stadsholt was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Mason City and the
Dorcas Society. During WWII she worked on the B-29 bomber as a “Rosie the
Riveter”. Marjorie grew up in rural San Jose and rural Mason City.
She and Bill wintered in Florida for 20 years and were avid ballroom dancers.
She was known for her big heart and will be missed by many.
Services will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Christ
Lutheran Church, Mason City . Pastor John Johnson will officiate and
burial will be at the Mason City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 Tuesday
evening at Hurley Funeral Home. Memorials may be left to the Christ
Lutheran Church, 114 E. Walnut St. , Mason City , IL 62664 .
