Marjorie F. Towery

1943 - 2011

Marjorie F. Towery, 68, of Chandlerville, passed away at her home at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. She was born March 10, 1943 in Chandlerville to Dwight and Inez (Force) Marr. She married John L. Towery in Rushville on September 2, 1961.

Mrs. Towery is survived by her husband, John, of Chandlerville, three daughters, Stephanie (Don) Goerlich of Beardstown, Bethanie Towery of Springfield, Melodie (Gary) Nordsiek of Arensville, two sons, John A. “Tony” (Susan) Towery of Chandlerville and Christopher (Julie) Towery of Beardstown, as well as 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Gloria (Bob) Potts and Dorothy Jean Richard, both of Chandlerville, Barbara (Daniel) Cook of Jacksonville and brother, Donald (Jackie) Marr of Chandlerville. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Gerald Marr.

Mrs. Towery was a member of the Chandlerville Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Bethel Cemetery, near Chandlerville. Rev. Jim Waterman will officiate.
