Mark Young (1953 - 2010) Mark Stephen Young, 56, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on March 1, 1953 to Arthur and Gertrude Wilson Young. He married Fran Stewart. He is survived by his wife Fran of Petersburg; two sons, Tim (Uma) Young of Portland, OR and Jason (Rhonda) Young of Sadorus; four daughters, Buffy (Brian) Dasenbrock of Decatur, Sara (Jeremy) McDaniel of Athens, Chris (companion, Rob Bard) Maggio of Springfield, and Kathy (Dave) Whitworth of Springfield; three brothers, Raymond (Pat) Young of Bethany, Jack (Ginger) Young of Harristown, and Larry (Sharon) Young of Springfield; three sisters, Rosemary Lascody of Springfield, Janet (Raymond) Langely of Springfield, and Carol (Rick) Ritz of Springfield; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild. His parents and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Young worked for the State of Illinois for over 15 years as a stationary engineer at several locations, presently at the Illinois Historical Preservation Agency in Springfield. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Petersburg. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Diabetes Association.
