Marlene J. Short, 68, of Topeka, died February 11, 2005 at her residence. She was born August 25, 1936 to Alford T, Hartman and Mary Lowe. She married Billy BJ Short December 8, 1951 in Rantoul IL. He survives.

She was a Nurses Aid in Pekin Hospital and a Home Health Nurse for Mason County Health Department, later caring for people in their own homes.  She was a member of the Sand Ridge Community Church. She was also past president of Women's Auxiliary of local #974 in East Peoria.

She is survived by two sons-BJ(Susie)Short of Pekin, IL.,Steven R. Short of Memphis, TN., two daughters-Linda M.(Willard)Keistler Of Columbus, MS., Melody Ann(Jim) Wagner of Bolingbrook IL., one brother-Ted(Helen)Hartman of Texas, and two sisters-Betty Rogge of Topeka IL, Shirley Strode of Topeka IL. Also survived by six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
