Bath, IL - Marvin D. Lascelles 69 died on June 2, 2006 at 1:00 a.m. in Havana Healthcare Center. He was born on March 26, 1937 in Bath, IL. to Homer and Opal Holmes Lascelles. He married Sharon Prettyman on Aug. 8, 1965 in Havana, IL. and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters- Connie (Jim) Hodel of Roakoke, IL. and Debbie Wood of Yorkville, IL. He has 5 grandchildren, Twin Brother Mervin Laselles of Oakford, IL., and Neal Lascelles of Oakford,IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Donald in Vietnam in June 1969.

He was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Kilbourne, American Legion Post 138 in Havana, Past director of Irrigation Growers, Mason County Farm Bureau, Bath township board,

Church trustee, and a Sunday school treasurer. He starting farming at 15 with his father and joined the Air National Guard and then enlisted in the Air Force for a total of 6 years.

 

Services are to be held at 2:00pm on Monday 5th 2006 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kilbourne with a visitation at Hurley Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-7 pm. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Havana American Legion Post 138 or Donors Choice.
