Mary Hopping

(1945 - 2009)

Mary Lou Hopping, 64, of Atterberry, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2009. She was born on June 21, 1945 in Springfield to Albert and Hazel Trader Covington. She married Jerry Lee Hopping in Havana on April 18, 1966.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Atterberry; a son, Gerald Lee Hopping of Atterberry; a daughter, Shelley (Dave) Lucchesi of Springfield; her mother, Hazel Todd of Peoria; six sisters, Betty Chere of Springfield, Hazel Beard of Tallula, Cheryl Chabez of Williamsville, Dixie Seiss of Pekin, Lucille Gibson of Missouri, and Jessie Phillips of Peoria; a brother, Milo Todd of Petersburg; and three grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony , and Lauren Lucchesi, all of Springfield.

Mrs. Hopping was a homemaker. She was a member of New Life Foursquare Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Foursquare Church in Petersburg. Rev. Warren Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Oakford Cemetery.
