Mary Elizabeth Eichman

1921 - 2006

Mary Elizabeth Eichman, 85, of Mason City died at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln at 6:40 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006. She was born in Mason City on May 15, 1921 to Harry and Anna (Hinds) Seward. She married John W. Eichman on November 29, 1958 in Rockford, IL. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1965.

Mrs. Eichman is survived by one sister, Audrey Crafton of Pekin, IL and three brothers: William Seward of Mason City, Charles Seward of Monmouth, IL and Merle Seward of Mason City; two half brothers and two half sisters also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers: Henry seward and Ralph Raymond Seward, both of Mason City.

Mrs. Eichamn was a member of the Mason City Christian Church, the Mason City Jackson-Keen Legion Post and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. She served in the U.S. Army in WWII in the New Guinea campaign in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and was awarded the Bronze Battle Star. She worked for Sears in Chicago for 41 years, retiring as a floor manager in her store.  

Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Rick Simert will officiate. Burial will be at Spring Lake Cemetery in Aurora, IL on Thursday.
