Mary Kathryn Mogerman

1953 - 2011

Kilbourne, IL – Mary Kathryn Mogerman, 57, of Kilbourne passed away at 9:15 am Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her residence. She was born Oct. 6, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of James Lee and Leatha N. Johnson Jones. She married Abraham Mogerman Aug. 12, 1989 and he survives.

She was an avid collector of Cabbage Patch dolls and was known as the handbag queen at Bergners in Springfield, IL where she has formerly worked. She was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1972 until 1975.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons; Andrew B. (Brenna) Sheppard of Alexandria, VA, and Donald Sheppard, Jr. of St. Louis, MO; her father, James Jones; one step-son, John Mogerman of Flint, Michigan, two grandchildren; Evan James Lee Sheppard and Alexia March Sheppard both of Cleveland, OH, and two step grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers; Frank Dennis (Terry) Jones of St. Peters, MO; James Jones of St. Louis, MO; three sisters; Karen Yerby (Rick Myers) of St. Charles, MO, Barbara Day of Cahokia, IL Cheryl Askins of Gray Summit, MO and one half sister, Vicky. Her mother, Leatha Alsup preceded her in death.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Kilbourne Baptist Church where she was a member.
