Mary F. Trimpe

1935 - 2007

Mary F. Trimpe, 72, of Havana died at Mason District Hospital in Havana at 5:17 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2007. She was born September 21, 1935 in Peoria, IL to Michael and Doretta (Sutton) Jakoby. She married Jim Trimpe at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana on November 28, 1959.

Mrs. Trimpe is survived by her husband Jim of Havana; seven sons: Ronald M. (Ruth) Trimpe of Belleville, IL, Ken (Tina) Trimpe of Havana, Kevin (Cindy) Trimpe of Athens, IL, Don (Heather) Trimpe of Havana, Steve (Vicki) Trimpe of Bloomington, Dave (Tracy) Trimpe of Lewistown, IL and R.J. Trimpe of Havana. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Michael (Ida) Jakoby of Pekin. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Nancy Gruber and Pat Peplow.

Mrs. Trimpe was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana where she taught Kindergarten Sunday School classes for 23 years. She was a member of many bridge clubs, the Business and Professional Ladies Society, Mason County Home Extension, and a former Jayceette. She formerly worked at the South Side Bank in Peoria and as a secretary for Tracer Industries in Havana for over 20 years.

Funeral services will be held at her church on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Martin W. Leibmann will officiate.
