Havana, IL - Maxine A. Wolters, 94, of Havana, IL passed away at 5:42 pm Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Mason District Hospital in Havana, IL. She was born on March 24, 1912 in Beardstown, IL to George W. and Bessie L. Coil Colvin and moved with her family to Havana at the age of seven. She married Wayne B. Wolters on March 24, 1934 in Havana. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1997.

Surviving is one daughter, Brenda Wolters, of Peoria and Havana.

Prior to her retirement, she worked in retailing for many years with her husband at Wolters Drug Store. An active Rotary-Ann, she was named a Paul Harris Fellow from the Havana Rotary Club and Rotary International.

She was a member of the Havana Woman’s Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Chapter "Y" PEO, and the Havana Chamber of Commerce.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Havana where services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 11:00 am. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery at Havana. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Mason District Hospital Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
