Melvin Rabbe

(1925-2005)

Melvin "Bud" Richard Rabbe of Mason City, died 9:30 A.M. Monday, March 7, 2005 at his residence. He was born September 10, 1925 in Rural San Jose, IL to Richard August Rabbe and Ida Imig.  He married Patricia Tockes September 3, 1950 at St. Luke's Church in Allen's Grove. 

Mr. Rabbe was a farmer in the San Jose area until his retirement in 1988.  He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City, Mason City Legion Post  #496, and the Mason County Farm Bureau. 

Survivors include his wife, three daughters; Judith (Dan) Scandiff of Naperville, IL, Patricia (Steve) Shaw of Peoria, IL, and Debra Weber of Springfield, IL; and 6 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eileen Leinweber. 

Services for Mr. Rabbe will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Christ Lutheran Church in Mason City.  The Rev. James Childs will be officiating with burial in Mason City Cemetery.  The visitation will be one hour prior to the services.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church.
