Mildred Eileen Koke

1919 - 2011

Mildred Eileen Koke, 92, of Havana, passed away at Havana Health Care Center at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011. She was born August 12, 1919 in Mason City to Rudolph and Mary Leesman. She married Alvin Koke on August 28, 1938 in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1992.

Mrs. Koke is survived by her daughter, Lynn Braendle of Virginia Beach, VA and son, Bradley Koke of Havana as well as four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Dorothy Kirby and Margaret Henry, brother, Marion Leesman, daughter-in-law, Barbara Koke and son-in-law, Jack Braendle.

Mrs. Koke was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana, where she had been involved in Charitable Endeavor. She and her husband were members of P.O.L.K. of A. (Illinois Chapter) in Havana for several years.

Graveside services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana at 2:30 on Thursday, September 22, 2011. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rev. Martin W. Liebmann Jr. will officiate.
