Morris C. Sarff

1925 - 2011

Chandlerville, IL – Morris C. Sarff, 85, of Chandlerville, IL passed away at 12:04 pm Saturday, May 21, 2011. He was born December 5, 1925 in Lynchburg Twp., Mason County, the son of Grover and Dessie Finch Sarff. He married Dolores M. Lippert July 12, 1947 at Forest City, IL and she preceded him in death June 1, 1981.

Mr. Sarff farmed his entire life, was a member of the Mason County Farm Bureau, was an avid hunter and for many years managed the Rainbow Duck Club. He attended the Virginia United Methodist Church in Virginia, IL.

He is survived by two sons; Darell (Rosanne) Sarff of Chandlerville and Don Sarff of Metamora, IL; two grandchildren; Eric Sarff of Champaign and Rachel Sarff of Springfield. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Charlene Anderson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Sanford, Cecil and Landon and one sister Faye.

Services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, IL conducted by Pastor William T. Braswell. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Bath, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mason District Hospital in Havana, American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
