Nancy Bree

(1940-2011)

Nancy Bree, 70, of San Jose died at 3:20am on Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Mason City Area Nursing Home.  She was born on September 25, 1940 the daughter of Arvid and Estella (Phillips) Nelson in San Jose.  She married Bernard “Bernie” Bree on June 26, 1960 in San Jose.

Survivors are her husband Bernie, one son: Scott Bree of Normal; one daughter: Ingrid (Brad) Martin of San Jose.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two sisters: Phyllis Hitchcock and Janet Sublet.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Bree was a member of the San Jose United Methodist Church, were she very active.  Also a member of the Parish Nurse Group.  She was an RN at Pekin Hospital for 29 years. 

Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in San Jose, Pastor Stephen King will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5-8 Wednesday evening, also at the church.  Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be left to her church.  Hurley Funeral Home in San Jose is in charge of arrangements.
