Nancy M. Gruber 71 of 6907 Swartz Lane Bartonville, IL. formerly of Peoria and Astoria died on January 6, 2005 at 1:45 p.m. at her residence. She was born on October 31, 1933 in Peoria, IL. to Michael G. Jakoby and Doretta J. Sutton. She married Stanley G. Gruber on July 13, 1952 in Peoria, IL. and he survives.

She has four sons- James (Janice) Gruber of Bartonville, IL., John (Diane) Gruber of Bartonville, IL., Mike (Kim) Gruber of Bartonville, IL., Stanley (Carrie) Gruber of Dunlap, IL., two daughters- Carol (Dale) Smith of Bartonville, IL. and Cathy(John) Hawksworth of Bartonville, IL. 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and one brother- Michael (Ida) Jakoby of Pekin, IL. and one sister- Mary (Jim) Trimpe of Havana, IL. She was preceded in death by one sister- Patricia Peplow and on grandson- David GG Kelsie.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Havana and she served as a Trustee for the Astoria Township Board. She was the secretary at Hollis Grade School for 20 years, retiring in 1991.

Services were held on January 10, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation from 2-5p.m. on Sunday, January 9 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.
