Nelda Rose Smith

1923 - 2010

Nelda Rose Smith, 86, of Kilbourne passed away at Mason District Hospital in Havana at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2010. She was born February 28, 1923 in Havana, to Andrew and Harriet (Hendricker) Larson. She married Emery Smith on October 17, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1992.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Sam (Lynda) Smith of Bloomington, two grandchildren, Angelica Smith, Andrea Ogborn and three great-grandchildren, Cody Smith, Courtney Roberts and Brooklyn Rothell. Also surviving are four sisters, Esther Lindsay, Lillian Roberts, Thelma Stevenson, Dorothy Bryant and one brother, David Larson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Jason (Mick) Smith, three brothers, Andrew Larson Jr., Joseph Larson, Robert Larson and two sisters, Hazel Felleson and Evelyn Felleson.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Havana Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at the Havana Church of Christ on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
