Ola Bortel

(1919-2005)

Ola L. Bortel of died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center.  She was born September 16, 1919 in Forest City, IL to Roy and Edna (Larimore) Miller.  She married Olen Bortel August 16, 1939 in Keokuk, IA.  He died March 18, 1994.

Mrs. Bortel is survived by three daughters: Alice Ann (Larry) Embury of Fruita, CO., Beverly (Roger) Brooks of Mason City, IL, and Cheryl (Wayne) Patterson of Easton, IL; two sisters: Evelyn Fletcher of Pekin and Helen Fletcher of Mason City; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother.   She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and a homemaker. 

Private services for Mrs. Bortel will be held at a later date.  The family asks that Memorial Contributions be made to the Mason County Pets without parents:  PO Box 166, Easton, IL 62633 or Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Forest City, IL.
