Opal Reimer

(1920 - 2006)    

Opal Reimer, 86, of Petersburg, died on June 22, 2006 at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on May 24, 1920 in Akron, Iowa ro William and Mamie Peters Lorensen. She married Edgar Reimer on August 6, 1944 in Greenview.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Emma) Reimer and Roger (Carolyn) Reimer, both of Petersburg; seven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.    

Mrs. Reimer was a nurse. She graduated from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical free Church in Petersburg, Royal Neighbors of America and Garden Club.

Funeral services will be held on June 26, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul's Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will be held on June 25, 2006 from 5 till 7pm at Hurley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg.        

Memorials may be made to the Memorial Nursing Scholarship or the Menard County Rescue Unit.
