Patricia Ann Thorpe 1934 - 2006 Patricia Ann Thorpe, 68, of Mason City died at her home at 7:50 a.m. on Monday, October 09, 2006. She was born December 24, 1937 in Greenview, IL to Vernon and Phyllis (Hyde) Johnson. Mrs. Thorpe is survived by one son, Paul David Mayer of Indianapolis, IN and one daughter Pamela (Paul) Scott of Colombus, OH and two grandsons: Paul Jr. and Kristopher Scott, both of Colombus. Also surviving are four sisters: Vernalee (Don) Windsor of Mason City, IL; Agnes Allison of Lincoln, IL; Judy (Don) Douglas, Jane (Ken) Danner and one brother Jim (Virgie) Johnson all of Mason City, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thorpe was a member of the Mason City Christian Church, and was the first female president of the Underwriters Association if Indiana. She had worked as an underwriter at Franklin Life, Jefferson National and State Farm Insurance Companies. She also worked at the Windsor Drug Store in Mason City and later at the drug store in Springfield, VT. Funeral services for Mrs. Thorpe will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Robert Paddack officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. A private burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Mason City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America – Rock Foundation. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
