Paul Masten (1954 - 2010)
Paul Leroy Masten Jr., 55, of Petersburg, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on July 12, 1954 in Springfield to Paul L. Sr. and Hermenia Marie Taapken Masten. He is survived by his mother, “Tootie” Masten of Petersburg; two sisters, Cathy Masten of Springfield and Linda (husband Jeff) Sisson of Havana; a nephew, Nate Sisson of Glen Carbon; a niece, Becky Sisson of Havana; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Paul worked at Potters Pharmacy in Petersburg for many years and had also worked for Sanerts Auction service in Greenview. He had been a member of the Model Railroad Club in Petersburg and was very involved in model cars, assembling and customizing them and attending swap meets. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Havana. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Pastor Dave Byrd and Pastor Keith Masten will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 6 till 8 pm. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to his family to assist with expenses. Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg is in charge of arrangements.
