Paula Beth Stahl

1954 - 2010

Paula Beth Stahl, 56, of Lewistown, formerly of Astoria for 18 years, passed away at OSF-St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria at 5:26 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010. She was born April 21, 1954 in Canton to Richard and JoAnn (DeMott) Sherwood. She married Michael Stahl on February 10, 1979 in Canton.

Mrs. Stahl is survived by her husband, Michael, of Lewistown, son, Matthew Richard (Monica) Stahl, daughter, Ashley Elizabeth (Jason) Barclay, both of Lewistown, step-son Dr. Michael Lee (Dr. Nicole) Stahl of Monument, CO, four grandchildren, Nathan Michael Stahl, William Richard Stahl, Jacey Jene Barclay and Savannah Jo Stahl. Also surviving are her mother, JoAnn Sherwood, one sister, Kathy (David) Rhodes of Troy, MO, as well as, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stahl graduated from VIT High School in 1972 and had also attended LCHS. She was a volunteer at the Astoria Library and Grade School. She was a member of the Band Boosters as was active as Brownie and Daisy leader for several years. She helped start Spoon River Blacktop and United Asphalt Supply, Inc. which she co-owned with her husband and son, Matthew. She had formerly worked at Weirauch Greenhouse, Table Grove State Bank and Farmer’s State Bank of Lewistown. She loved to walk, read and watch movies.

Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August, 24, 2010. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Waterford Cemetery near Lewistown. Rev. Richard Stahl will officiate.
